So long as there are no disasters on the final few holes, it looks like the final pairing this afternoon will be Dimarco-Bjorn, with Howell, Woods, Mickelson and Singh making up the two groups behind them. Sorta interesting...Dimarco has had many chances in majors so far to win, but has stumbled a little bit on Sundays, and Bjorn of course is as known for his debacle in the sand on 16 at St. George's in 2003 as anything...also he had to take some time off last year maybe to deal with "demons"...can those two remain level-headed if (probably more like when) Woods, Mickelson or Singh make a charge? The odd man there seems to be Howell, and I don't know a ton about him except for his Ryder Cup play. I think it's first-last when pairing so it'll either be Howell-Woods or Howell-Singh....and the other pairing should be juicy any way you look at it. Woods and Mickelson, possibly putting on a show like they did at Doral this year to get close to the lead and prepare for a Sunday charge? Or Singh and Mickelson, playing together only one day after their now-infamous flap over the spikes? The Golf Gods sure have a way of making things interesting for us....see Mickelson and Woods at the Buick in '03 right after Phil's 'inferior equipment' comments. Oh well, should be fun.
edit: Tiger birdies 17 to go to -6 on the day, -4 for the tourney, Bjorn birdies 9 to finish at -6, and Dimarco pars 18 to finish at -10.
