Americans have won 11 of the last 15 major championships, which is what you'll typically see in a 4 or 5 year span. So major title-wise, not much has changed. Americans still have control of the majors. No doubt there are a lot better mix of competition with the international field, but they haven't made a strong impact yet in the major championship department, especially the Europeans, who haven't had a major title since Paul Lawrie in '99.
