Be honest

Have you ever thrown a club in frustration? I did once. I had hit a perfect draw with my driver around a long dogleg right (I'm a lefty) and my ball was sitting dead next to the 200 yard marker. It was a perfect placement for the most accurate club in my bag, the 7 wood. The flag was sitting dead center of the green... I should also mention that this was the 6th carry-over in a skins game I was playing with clients. There was near fifty bucks on the line.
Anyway, it may have been the most confident I've ever been while addressing the ball. There was no way I was going to screw up this shot. I'd hit this shot a million times on the range... So I made a nice rhythmic swing and I topped/shanked into a water hazard almost directly to my right.

Without thinking, I whipped the club underhanded and forward about 30 yards long and 30 feet high. It travelled end over end in a beautiful arc landing on its side in the fairway. As soon as it landed I felt like a total idiot and immediately apologized. They all laughed as we'd played golf together probably 20 times before this and I'd seen two of them go Tommy Bolt before. But I was still embarrassed.

I've committed other transgressions such as yelling **** loudly one time when I was playing with a friend from the army who'd come out to visit. He calmly looked at me and said, "Dude, it's a golf course, not a football stadium". I've never done anything like that since. Man I felt like about two feet tall.
