Callaway HX Tour 56

I played the new Cally HX Tour 56 head to head against the Nike One Platinum this weekend. Was able to get out as a single on a hot day, with nobody in front of or behind me.

Quick take: both are about the same. The Tour 56 is a tad softer and not quite as hot around the greens.

The Tour 56 seems to spin a little bit more and stick closer to where it hits with mid and short iron shots, and wedges. Distance off the driver was about the same. I alternated which ball I teed up first because I was able to hit two tee shots. In most cases, the 2nd shot was a tad longer, probably because the first drive was a warm-up.

Durability was about the same. The Cally showed a tad bit more wear after a full wedge shot with the Cleveland CG10. Wear on the Cally was a little less noticeable when hit with a full Vokey spin-milled wedge.

Aesthetically, the Cally is a little less "bright white."

Woods used were: Ping G2 driver, Big Bertha 3 wood, Taylor Made hybrid. Irons were Ping I3+'s. Wedges were a mix of Cleveland CG10's and Vokey Spin Milled.

Bottom line: if you're a Tiger fan or really like the Platinum, stay with it. If you're a Mickleson fan, or have tried the Platinum and found it a little too hard or too hot around the greens, give the HX Tour 56 a spin.
