What if someone other than Phil or Tiger had won? Would golf still need to be "saved?" Golf is in such shambles that without heroes like Phil to knock off the omnipotent one there would be no professional golf. The David and Goliath story is old news.

The PGA was entertaining, a good tournament to watch, and a fan favorite happened to win. Does anyone (other than the author) really believe that golf was going to live or die based on the outcome of this single tournament?
