It happened to me last Saturday. Topped my tee shot and first fairway shot, dowhill from there through the first 5 holes. Not my usual solid start. Kept my cool, but politely told the 3 guys I was with that I was going to pack it in after we finished putting to keep from ruining the rest of their round (they were strangers, I joined their group).

They were adamant that I *not* leave - I was really pleasantly surprised at how sincere they were, so I decided to stay. Things suddenly got much better - I sunk a long put for par (on accident, I'm sure), then started nailing my drives. Finished the last 4 holes par-bogey-par-par....what a game
