I have no problem with "rub of the green" conditions and I adhere to the USGA's Rules of Golf. However, when the last group of the day plays a hole that calls for a "lay-up" off the tee and there's 60+ divots in the lay-up area, then those players are penalized by being considerably more at risk of finding a perfectly placed tee shot in a divot. Those playing before them were not. I certainly don't expect this rule to be changed anytime soon.......but that doesn't mean I have to agree with it.
