some still do, mainly very large operations. before the advent of the tractor cab,(early 1970's) farming was a very tough life and most farmers had livestock along with farming the land and they had no time for anything else, but as in everything, things have changed dramatically.
btw, farmers don't need these subsidies from the gov't. the taxpayer's of this country are really being duped on this one. imho

you know why all their pickups say 4X4 on the side of them?
answer: cuz they only work 4 weeks in the spring and 4 weeks in the fall. lol.
and there's alot of truth to that also.
