Icon V2
The Accuflex Icon V2 is a great shaft for a smoother tempo swinger….it is not an aggressive hitters shaft. This shaft should be called the everyman’s shaft. It is a great middle of the road shaft. If you not sure what shaft to get and get confused by all the shaft specs….get this shaft in your flex you can’t go wrong.
The Accuflex Icon V2 I hit has a weight of 60gr, torque 3.5, and was a X-Flex in a Nike ignite head 9.5* loft.
Looks: This is nice looking shaft. It has black and gray look to it…very classy.
Feel: This is a great feeling shaft. It is a light shaft that you can generate club head speed with very easily. You can feel the kick when you hit the ball and it is a silky feel to it. At my swing speed…116mph…I was worried the shaft would feel whippy like the YS shafts to but if felt great. It has the same feel as a Fujikura Speeder 652 which is about the best feeling shaft I have ever hit.
Ball Flight: It has a very nice medium ball flight with a lot of roll. It is a mid kick shaft that I could not hit left. It was either a straight or draw ball flight. If you fade or slice the ball get this shaft.
Distance: I would call this a distance shaft more then a control shaft. The control is fine but you can overpower it on a hard swing….remember this shaft is for a smooth tempo swing, no violent movements from the top. With a smooth swing the reward is distance in the middle of the fairway.
Price: At this shafts price range I would put it in the same boat as the Fuji Vista Pro and the Graphite Design YS shafts. However it is much better than both of them.
I would compare this shaft to a Fujikura Speeder 652 (at $200 less the cost) The Accuflex Icon V2 is a great shaft.
