If you have a strong grip, v's pointing toward your trail shoulder, your lead wrist should be cupped at the top of your backswing. If it is flat or bowed, the clubface will be very shut. The flat lead wrist at the top only applies if your grip is neutral to weak. As long as you turn the clubface over and release at the right time it doesn't really matter. You need to use the grip that works best for you and just realize that the cupping or flatness of your lead wrist depends on your grip. They have to match. Good luck.
