Looks like somewhere in the neighborhood of 32 players will break 70 today. Birdie at the par 5 18th would leave Woods in a 14-way tie (yeah, FOURTEEN!) for 5th.

In good position. Wasn't his best ball striking day, but his strategy was to play conservative and avoid any big numbers. His only bogey was the 3-jack at the first. 11/14 fairways, 12/18 Greens, 26 putts through 17 holes (on in 2 at 18th).

Mission accomplished for day one.
