Regarding playing "against" those other kids who are really good. You're a 9 handicap, which isn't exactly a bad golfer. Try to remember that you're playing against the course, not against those other kids. Don't worry about what they're doing and focus on your own game. This is difficult to do sometimes, but if you can forget about them, you'll start doing much better.
