Ping makes the club head, but they don't make the shaft. there are different types of graphite which some are thicker at the tip while others are thinner and usually very durable, in your case, they are thinner, but the material is more brittle, therefore, when you leaned on it, it snapped, not once, which could be given the benefit of a doubt, but twice, which tells me that the shaft quality is not up to par.
