Go to the nearest golf store that has many of the club models and try them all out. Write down the names of the clubs you like (Irons, woods, wedges). Do not fall for just the big names and just the latest and greatest. The previous version (and probably more) of many clubs will provide you with what you truly need.

Then, go to Ebay, Golf Club Exchange, RockBottomGolf, or 3Balls Golf (to name a few sites) and purchase your clubs. You will save lots of money.
