This is a ball that really perplexes me. I'm able to pick them up at a local Sports Authority for a discount price, and I've bought a bunch, played well with them, then had 1 horrible round, then took back the unopened boxes. I must've done that 2-3 times.
The ball really does what the common perceptions around here say. It flies very straight, you'll never really be more than 10 yards or so off the fairway unless you give it a REALLY bad swing.
But, it has a really hard time stopping. This is one ball that you need to adjust your strategy around for. With short game and approach shots, you really need to aim short a lot of the time. Fortunately (or maybe really not) for me, I often do not take enough club (stupid ego) on approach shots. So I end up hitting it where a normal ball stops 10 yards short of the green, but this ball trickles up onto the green, barely.
I've looked at the golfballtest.com results to see what would be the best for my specific game. I rated all the results for distance, spin, price, etc and put more weight to the factors I need more of. And this ball is far and away the best rated for what I need. I'm still deciding if the lack of greenside spin is compensated by the extra distance and straighter drives.
Its just that you have to stay with this ball (or I presume the e6, which is the replacement) and you really can't play the same way with a different ball.
