Mike, the bronze is probably an oil can finish....most people like it, but it does come off pretty quickly especially if you use it in the sand a bunch. It will rust eventually if you do nothing or you can try to keep the rust at beh/bah (SP) with the use of silicon spray. If you like the rust then just keep using it and do nothing or you can try many different things to make it rust quicker. Personally I don't like the rust, but some do. Your choice.
