Well, my wife is dragging me down to San Diego at the end of March for a little family vacation (I guess I can't complaint too much though since I am spending a week in the BVIs with the guys earlier that month). We are going to be staying at a resort on Mission Bay and God willing I will be able to get in a round or two in between Sea World, Lego Land and whatever else we find to do down there. It is winter here in Washington so it will have been about five months since I picked up my clubs and in addition to that I am a mediocre to borderline poor (but improving) golfer. However, I am serious about the game and am respectful of whoever I end up playing with. With that said I am looking for a course that is not too pretentious where whoever I get paired up with will be more likely to forgive my occassional (ok maybe frequent) shot out to left field but I do want a nice course though - after all I am going to be on vacation and I don't mind paying a bit for a nice round of golf. I will probably be able to play mid-week if that makes any difference.

So, anyone have any recommendations on some good courses for me that are close to the Mission Bay area? Thanks.
