My favorite golf courses on Oahu

My two favorite golf courses on Oahu are Kapolei Golf Course and the Arnold Palmer Course at Turtle Bay. They are both kind of far from Honolulu.

Kapolei Golf Course has GPS on their golf carts. It's also a nice layout with water on a lot of the holes. They hosted an LPGA Tournament at the course in the past. The clubhouse is also good for a nice meal at decent prices after the round.

The Arnold Palmer Course at Turtle Bay is the current home of the LPGA Tour event the SBS Open. It is a resort course so I would imagine it is quite expensive for those from out of state (local residents get "kama'aina" discounts). They also offer caddies there who can help you with yardages and reading greens. Despite being in Hawaii, not many courses on Oahu have holes along the ocean but this course has some.

Mamala Bay at Hickam Air Force Base has a lot of personality if you are in the military or know someone who can sponsor you on base. It is located right by the reef runway so you can see all of the planes taxiing and taking off/landing. This means it can get quite loud at times but I found the "uniqueness" of it to be well worth the noise. It also has a number of holes situated right along the ocean which makes for a lot of beautiful views.

Of the municipal courses, my favorite is Ewa Villages Golf Course. It is maintained quite well and is a class above any of the other municipal course out there.
