Hey - Maybe it's me - but I don't expect soft feeling wedges to be indestructible - especially if you hit a "hard object"
My experience is similar to yours in that the wedges are extremely smooth - and really get the ball to check up. I am not a player who can ordinarily spin the ball, but the grooves I found to hold up and actually get the ball to check from a variety of distances from 90 yards in. Great wedge!

the milled face gives alot of spin behind the ball.
they are weighted very nice, very similar to the vokey spin milled in terms of weight and balance.

the one thing that bugs me is that the milled faces are very easy to scuff, and hard to clean.

i like my clubs looking good, and today i managed to hit a hard object and it put a microscopic scratch on the face. luckily its only cosmetic.

i have mine set up "spinner" style with true temper dg r300
