I tried my friend's club which was really easy to hit and control.

I think the key thing in this club is that it is perimeter weighted unlike the conventional bladed wedges. It's really hard to shank a wedge so the face forward concept is a little goofy. With regard to shanking, the driver and fairway wood...well, that's another story.
