I totally agree with this. I find I play my best with better players because it makes me want to "rise to the occasion." I play as a single a lot and often times, I will play match play in my head without the guy knowing.

I can understand the nervousness about playing with better players, though. I think I had the same problem when I first started to play and I had no idea whether I would pop up my drive 40 yards or hit it in the center of the fairway.
