I just got back from a lesson at Carl's Golfland located at The Inn at St. John's, its very nice. Located in Plymouth, the next community west of Livonia.

Livonia has 3 community golf courses that you can check into at this website: City of Livonia Golf Division. Sorry, I haven't personally played them (I work in Plymouth but live downriver).
