So I was listening to the British broadcast today on the internet, and what the heck is "Punter/Punting". At one point of the broadcast there were talking about the current bookie odds on golfers and punting. Sounded like punting was placing a small wager. However later in the broadcast, one anouncer referred to himself as a punter. Context made it sound like it was synonymous with duffer, bud, or bro. Although I couldn't really tell.
