I think there should be a maybe or somewhat option. I would be hard pressed to say it wasn't at least partly effective after watching Woods and Lefty duke it out last week. I think that sort of play is what the tour desired. However I am extremely disappointed with the current implementation, and I know there has been significant amount of discussion about the current format in other threads. However I don't like the current format that allows players in the top 10 to take a week off and recharge. I was also very disappointed for someone like Fredrik Jacobson who played his butt off and finsished in the top 10 but only advanced his points standings to 13 places to 87 and missed the cutoff for the BMW. There are as many as 16 players this week who need a 1, 2, or 3 to move on next week.

With this format, I don't think the FedEx Cup can be called the Playoffs, becuase the points acumulated during the regular season count for too much. I think the Playoffs should be win (place high) or go home for everyone not just the bottom of the barrel.
