Back in the late 80's and early 90's we use to play a home and home match every year with NAS Pensacola. I guess there was not enough command interest to keep the tradition going but we always enjoyed the NAS course very much. The Navy and Air Force courses I've been able to play are generally much better than the Army's. During the mid to late 90's Ft. Rucker's condition and playability fell off dramatically. The fall off occurred at the same time the military was going through some serious down sizing. With the upswing since Desert Storm the course is seeing some steady improvement. I still play Ft. Rucker every now and then and the course has grown to 27 holes. New greens were put in 2 years ago and they work hard to make the course better.
