I know conventional wisdom says to play the ball more off your front heel for drives, but I have gone out and played twice since the driving range, and other than a couple of bad hits, I just laced the ball. Maybe because I am tall (6'-7'') I have a different swing...I'm not sure...
And even with my irons, I put the ball a bit further back in my stance and tried to keep my head steady with a full shoulder turn....much better...
Anyway, thanks, and lets see what today brings......it's always something new.....
Well actually you play the ball off the front heel if you are using a driver. But if you are teeing off with a three-wood then is should be a few inches further back. How about your stance? Is it closed or open? Having a closed or open stance effectively moves the ball further back or forward in your stance respectively. If you made such an improvement just moving the ball further back in the stance then that may be part of your solution for sure. Work on your set up rather than a lot of swing changes.
