Sometimes being an athlete can make golf more difficult to learn. It was for me. I would encourage you to seek help from a professional sooner rather than later. I assure you he won't laugh. He would not stay in business long. By starting early with proper instruction, you will not ingrain bad habits that are hard to erase.
