Just want to add that I wasn't questioning your integrity, really just questioning why a tournament committee would waive a rule of golf. You did the right thing, and got a favorable ruling. It even happens to the pros (esp. Tiger). Sometimes rulings are made that really aren't correct in favor of the golfer.

I just think that if you have an official event, rules need to be followed.
