Don't be jealous but I am blessed to be in an area where I have a choice of about five courses in the under $35 dollar range that are all pretty decent. You have two choices: Limited playing partners or playing at mainly one or two cheapest courses if you want company. If you give the job to someone else who is "cheap", they are going to choose the least expensive option. I for one like the comeraderie so even though we have multiple options we usually end up at the same course because it is not only cheap but uncrowded.
