Myrtle Beach Trip recap

Hey Guys,

Wanted to get back with you about our Myrtle Beach trip we just came back from yesterday. I write you guys a couple times a year for info, and let you know about our annual trips.

We had 24 guys go down Thursday morning at 6:00am from Virginia Beach. Getting everyone organized was a nightmare, but I did it. We got there about 12:30 for our 1:30 tee time at World Tour. We were staying at the Grand Villa condos, but they were not ready yet, no biggie. We warmed up, drank and ate and starting going out to play the Championship and International 9s. On the phone about a week before the trip, they told me we would play the Champ and Open courses, but no big deal, we had always wanted to play this course. The starters were great (they did push us a little, but nothing over the top), the cart girl and the girls inside the bar/club house were insanely hot (something us 24 guys really enjoy) The course was in great shape and we had a blast. I would label it an A.

Friday morning, we had an 8:28 tee time at Kings North, we got there at 8:20, long night see below. We rushed out and started playing, they were a little mad at us for being late, but they got over it (the customer was is always right). It wasn’t until about hole 6 I found out per the foursome behind me, that the one behind them, told them the one behind them only had 2 people. Found out in the rush to leave, 2 people got left at the condos. Boy were they mad when they got there by cab. This course is by far the best courses we have ever played. It was in perfect shape, everything was green, rolling, great landscape, awesome drive through waste bunkers, great greens, and it was the toughest course we every played also. The layout was one great hole after another, but of course we all talked about the Gambler at the end. We gave this course an A+

Saturday we had 8:30 tee time at the Tradition Club, I had 16 rain checks from last year’s trip, and everyone was eager to play here, we got about 5 holes in last year and then it dumped on us. We missed the turn, twice, and we were late anyway, thanks to the night before (see below). They were not happy at all with us, but we got right out on the course. It threatened to rain the whole time, but we played a great round on a great course. This was another great lay out, only small complaint was the greens were a little sandy, but nothing too much to take away from another awesome course. We gave it an A.

We hustled next door to Willbrook to find they blown the warning horn already, and we got inside right before it dumped on us. ANOTHER rain out on the 2nd round for Saturday, guess we will try here again next year.

After the rain late, since we are staying right next to River Oaks, 20 of us decided since we got rained out earlier, we would play a fast 9 there for 25 bucks. Played the Otter 9, it was wet, it had just poured, the greens were fantastic, so was the lay out. The course was in bad shape, they sure don't take care of it, it's a shame too, it could be a very good mid tier course, but it's a D+ right now.

The night time update:

First night after World Tour, everyone wanted to chill in the room, drink the 10 handles of Captain Morgan and the cases of beers. Myself, and 2 other die hards, scouted out the Penthouse Club for a couple hours. Of course it turned into a great idea, and we got back to the condos at 4am. Give the club an A that night.

Friday night we had all decided, on info from a few of our guys from last year, that we should be at Masters at 4pm for their Friday specials. This turned out to be the greatest idea in the history of our golf trips. Try to imagine 24 people, taking over the whole front section of the club, all the chairs and tables. They had 2 dollar beers, so we were ordering them 50 at a time. We used 2 tables to just hold the beer, and we would grab them off the table like a mini bar. We had the best time ever in this place. A++++

Saturday night, a repeat of the Thursday night occurred at the Penthouse club with 12 of us. I got back to the condo at 4:00am, we got up and left at 7am. Long ride home!

I want to make sure you guys recommend Barbie Chestnut, she is the greatest to work with, got us all the courses we wanted, a great price, and all the passes to the strip clubs! Beach vacations has done well by us for 4 years now!

Pictures of the courses only (no evidence) to follow as soon as I get them in.
