Practicing with different shoes.

I have had this burning question for the past couple of days now so I hope that someone could answer it for me please.
Does it hurt or benefit your game at all to practice with golf shoes rather than just sneakers? Maybe I am one of the only ones who practices with something other than golf shoes but could the difference in traction from each trip actually cause a problem? I practice almost everyday with just shoes that I have on and I slide a bit, but when I put on the shoes I grip the ground which can throw me off at first. I practice a lot more than I play due to transportation and Financial reasons (I am on 16) so could having the traction and grip of sneakers hurt my game when I switch to my golf shoes for a round?
