I do not think relearning your carry distance would be that much of an issue. A good deal of the distance you would lose is that after you have hit the ground with a Rock-Flight. Try a ball with more control. There are some out there that won't bust the bank. They mostly feel better too!
In addition, if you like the balls your using, don't alter your swing to make the club fit a given distance other than move the ball back a bit ( de-lofting ) or swinging easier; so you can make a club carry and roll almost as much as the next. If you want to play fades and draws fine, but, be prepared to work pretty hard to get consistency.
