Oops...

To correct myself (which happens more often than I prefer), the ball is in the middle of the stance for the 9-iron (not the 5-iron) and you work up. You want the ball teed in front (inside the front foot) for the driver so you can catch the ball on the upswing to get "lift off" (if you will).

Again, it is still suppose to be the same swing (as Hogan says, "the golfer only needs to learn one swing")...

According to Hogan, the feet should be shoulder width apart for the 5-iron, narrower for the higher irons (6-wedges) and wider for the lower irons and woods. My instructor has told me (at least at this point) to keep my feet the same width for all swings.

Just some thoughts (after I came home and checked my notes)...
