I like Tiger and someday he "may" be the best ever, but for now, that title is still Jack's. The comparison's are well documented but they omit longevity. Tiger may be a better player than Jack was, but Jack found a way to win the majors. Throw in his 22 second place finishes in the majors and Tiger is not even close...yet. Jack rarely, rarely, rarely, missed a putt he "had to have" in a major and he was the greatest clutch putter of all time. Everybody is dogging Tiger about his driving but when he putts well in majors, he wins or contends.

I kinda got sidetracked there but you got me going with your right on comment about Jack Nicklaus being the embodiment of the ideal golfer.
