Par 3's are a good thing to work, getting closer to the hole. The thing that i work on the most is par 5's because those can make a big difference, i can reach quite a few par 5's and if i birdie 2 of the 4 on a course i am happy. I need to make more birdies on par 5's.
Greg, the way i look at par 3's is just a par 4, but the tee shot is eliminated. I just think of aiming to the center of the green as i would on a lot of par 4's and making the pars. Of course when the pin is accesable fire upon it, but when the pin is tucked or in a more difficult position i just think of it as i am playing a par 4 and try for the easy 2 putt. I do not know if that makes sense or if it will help you, but it has helped me on par 3's alot.
