Here's my take on this, as I just went through this exercise, and (finally) joined a GOLF club:

GOLF Club - Golf only, plus a driving range, 19th hole, locker/shower facilities, etc. etc.

COUNTRY Club - Family oriented, with golf course, pools, perhaps tennis courts, and other activities for the family.

Your situation sounds like like mine - GOLF. I would focus on golf-only clubs, unless you have a family that would enjoy a full "Country Club' environment, while you practice/play.
