Jay - you and I are alike! In fact, I had such a horrible experience (waited almost 2 hours as a single, AGAIN
) at a public course recently, I was in a terrific rush to get to the tee, and put a huge skymark on my NEW 3wood
, and right then decided to join a private club.
JBob - I have never seen a single source for comparison, but you might try a google search for "Washington DC private golf club pricing", or something of that nature. But.......keep in mind that the published prices don't reflect any specials, discounts, or promotions - the club I joined lists $2500 as the initiation fee, but I got in free.
