Like we've had with three of the major championships held during the existence of Golf Rewind, we will hold a Pick 'Em game for the 2004 Ryder Cup. Read the rules carefully because they are a little different this time around.

The prize: The prize will be a special "Ryder Cup Pick 'Em Champion" seal displayed below your User Title (Weekend Duffer, Golf Enthusiast, etc.). sbrentt, thearn3 and victory are the U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship Pick 'Em Champions respectively. This seal will be different from the major championship seals and could possibly have the flag for the team of your choice (Europe or USA).

Deadline to enter: this contest will be 6:00 AM Eastern time on Friday, September 17, 2004.

To be eligible: for this contest, you will need to be at "Golf Enthusiast" level. This means, you must have a minimum of 30 posts to be eligible for the prize. All other members can play but will not be eligible to win the prize. Spamming of the forum will not be tolerated and will result in your disqualification from the contest and possibly all future contests.

Note: You don't need to be at "Golf Enthusiast" level when you enter but if you would like to be eligible for the prize, you will have to be at that level by the end of the contest (Sunday).

How to play: First, you have to select a team to win, either USA or Europe. Next, pick a player from each group on your team who you think will do best. Wins get 1 point and ties receive 0.5 points. After this, pick a player on each group from the opposite team who you think will fare the worst. The points these players receive will be subtracted from your score.

Pick your players using the following format:

Winning Team: USA, A. Tiger Woods, B. Jim Furyk, C. Chad Campbell, D. Chris Riley
Losing Team: Europe, A. Padraig Harrington, B. Miguel Angel Jimenez, C. Paul Casey, D. Paul McGinley

One twist. You must pick the winning team to win the Pick 'Em. So if you picked the USA team to win and had the most points but in reality, Team Europe won, you would not win the Pick 'Em game. Hope that isn't confusing.

Remember, you want to pick the players who will do best for your winning team. These scores will be added to your score. Pick the players who will do worst for the losing team as their scores will be subtracted from your score. The person receiving the highest score will win.
