If you could make it to the west coast, Monterey has a ton of beautiful courses such as the famed Pebble Beach. There are many courses some more $$$ than others. Monterey is more of a quiet area, good for a quiet get-a-way, e.g. bed and breakfast. There is also the Monterey aquarium, 17-mile drive, and other tourist attractions. Great restaurants and San Francisco is about 2 hours north.
