I also would ask if you have had lessons, clubs fitted etc., because most people that take up golf do not take the time to get lessons, clubs fitted, and make a committed effort to practice. I think what the instructor is referring to is the golfer that buys a set of clubs, with all the works included and is happy with that, maybe be wrong but I have read other articles that do indicate this. I think it should not be something that discourages someone from playing there are some people that are quite happy to have a score of 100, and there are other people that play the game and see it as a challenge to improve each time hey go out, and set goals to improve. And let me say if you have reach the level you are at with out practice and instructions my hat is off to you that is a great accomplish in anyones book.
