I'll take the old guys too! For the same reasons! Earlier this year I was paired up with two guys that were in their late 70's. They had already hit when I arrived and teed it up after quick introductions. I nailed one down the middle and as I was reaching for my tee the first guy looks at me and says gruffly, "When I was your age, I hit it like that too." I didn't know quite how to respond but before I could, his partner says, " George! I've been playing with you for 50 years and you NEVER hit it like that!" There was a moment of uneasy silence and then all three of us busted out laughing The rest of the round was laced with old golf stories, good shots, bad shots, and plenty of laughs. All in all it was one of the most enjoyable rounds of the year for me.
