  • Strengthen your grip (Band-aid fix)

If you can imagine a neutral grip: Both thumbs point directly down the middle of the grip exposing the first two knuckles on your left hand (fore- and middle-finger).

To strengthen your grip, rotate BOTH left and right hands to the right, as to expose three or all four knuckles on the left hand.

  • Relax your grip

By holding the club tightly, it restricts your wrists from rotating freely throughout the swing. Try it. Take your normal grip and then squeeze the club as tight as your can. Now take a practice swing and notice how the clubface can not square itself to the target. Now relax your grip and make your normal practice swing, see how nicely the club face squares to the target almost without trying.

  • Vijay Drill

Take a towel or club head cover and tuck it under your left armpit. Make a few swings without dropping the towel. What this does it keep your left arm connected to your chest. Which ever direction your chest moves your arm will follow. This alleviates the ‘casting’ move to begin the downswing, which causes the outside-in swing path = slice. This drill will not work if you begin your downswing with a ‘reverse-pivot’ type of move. This move will re-route the club outside the target-line and as your body rotates toward the target your arms will follow, resulting in an outside-in path. In order for this drill to work you must start the downswing properly. Weight shift to your left followed by the uncoiling of the upper body.

Of all the drills I found the Vijay drill to work the best for me.
