Sorry in advance to the men but, generally it's the guys that play slow. At my club the ladies will normally play 18 holes (walking) as a 3 ball in about 3.5 hours. The guys will be 4 hours +. On a weekend I dread getting behind a mens 4 ball because I know I am going to have to wait on every tee.

I don't think the slowness is gender dependent, but there's something about old lady foursomes that make people nervous. At this one golf course I frequent, when people see old lady foursomes in the clubhouse, I see folks going up to the counter to ask if they're teeing off after the ladies.
