First off, the local course idea doesn't hold water, IMO. Anyone who has ever been to the island of Oahu knows that Turtle Bay would not be a local course for any Honolulu resident. The fact is, I've only played the Arnold Palmer course once in my entire life. I played the next door Fazio course yesterday (for the first time) since I caught some of the final round action of the SBS Open. So then you might be saying, "well, Michelle is used to grainy Bermuda greens" but the greens at Turtle Bay are paspalum. The one thing she may be used to is playing in windy conditions. I have honestly never played in winds as bad as they were on Saturday.

I think Michelle Wie deserves a lot of credit for her performance. She's 15 and came in a tie for 2nd in an LPGA Tour event. Was the field weak? Depends on your perspective. Annika wasn't there but I heard there were something like 24 or 26 of the top 30 LPGA Tour players there. Doesn't sound too weak if you ask me.

Will she be to the LPGA Tour what Tiger is to the PGA Tour? Who knows? Only time can tell. But from what I've seen so far, I certainly think Michelle has a bright future.
