Planning a few days early December to go golfing and a bit of wining around Cape Town.

Have stayed at Spiers Village last time and played the DeSalze course.

This time we have a few days at the Western Cape Spa in Hermanus which has it own course - but would also like to look for a few days in the wine country or Cape Town itself.

Can anyone recommend courses thereabout - and give an idea to Green Fees.

Hi Thomas - there are plenty to choose from.

Hermanus is apparently quite good but across the river is Arabella www.arabellasheraton.com which is really quite exceptional and the home of the Nelson Mandela Charity Challenge.

Nearer Cape Town are Stellenbosch, Spier, Paarl, Pearl Valley all of which welcome visitors.

Visitors green fees range from R500 (US$80) to R1000 maximum, which are expensive by SA standards but it is the holiday season and the Cape courses get fat off the SA holiday golfer!!

Most will allow carts (in some cases compulsory) but since we're tough out here most players prefer to walk! A caddie will cost you R150 to R200 per round but they're probably worth it.
