The same thing happend to another forum site I would hang out at. The owners lost interest, basically abandonding the site, and the mods could only do what they had access to. Nothing got updated, and the servers got so bogged down that the site barely functions anymore. The only active part of the site was the forum area, everything else was in total disrepair. I hope that doesn't happen here.

I agree it would be a real shame if this site would stop working because the admin isn't around. Well, if that would happen we'd just have to move the whole membership and sponsers over to MGD.

Agreed, well can i just say that the mods are doing a great job and everyone appreciates thier efforts. Though there is usually a hint for spammers all thier threads have that piece of paper as an icon for the thread, thats just a warning if you stay clear of those then you should be fine. If everyone avoids them, and ignores them then they will do not damage

I haven't been around much lately... is there still a bit of a problem with spammers?

While I'm an Innovex fan, one of the things I liked about this forum when I found it, is that it wasn't owned by a golf company.

What makes this site so pleasant is the restraint and good taste most members show most of the time. I have seen some other sites that really sank into depravity and filth and all the good people abandoned them. All it took was a few filthy mouthed types to show up and take over and the site went down the tubes. Sure hope we can keep this site above par, so to speak....pun intended.

Re: Please Help Us With The Spammers

Tried on the other spam thread but I had an error & guess i re-posted too fast.

There is a new member, TA74, joined today jumping in a lot of threads and there is some kind of re-direct popping up for another golf site which is blocked by my pop up blocker. It also creates automatic private messages which I deleted W/O opening.

Re: Please Help Us With The Spammers

I'm not sure what's happening, but since he popped up, when I submit a thread I get a page unavailable. If I back out of the specific forum and go back in I see my posts.
