I know categories are based on how many posts a member has to his/her name, but I want to know what all the different categories are (Weekend Duffer, Golf Enthusiast, etc.) and how many posts you need in order to progress to each one of them. This is a little pointless, but I'm just curious.

Here they are:

0-29 posts: Weekend Duffer
30-99 posts: Golf Enthusiast
100-249 posts: Q-School
250-499 posts: Tour Card
500-999 posts: Tournament Winner
1000-1499 posts: Green Jacket
1,500+ posts: Golf Hall of Fame

Any suggestions on ways to improve these titles?

Yeah that's what I was kinda curious about. At first I thought it went by handicap (because with a 27 handicap, Weekend Duffer sounded about right) but then I saw 8, 9, 10, and 11-handicappers with the same Weekend Duffer status as I had. Then I checked the number of posts everyone had, and before long, I too moved up in the ranks. Anyhoo, this is post #69 for me, meaning I have 31 left before I enter Q-School!

My only change would be to make:

1K-1,499 posts: British Open
1,500-1,999 posts: PGA Open
2K-2,499 posts: U.S. Open
2,500-2,999 posts: Masters
3K-3,499 posts:Grand Slam
3,500-3,999 posts: Golf Hall of Fame

or

1K-1,499 - Major Winner

Question Levels

I'm a weekend duffer, currently. I'm just curious what the levels are, i.e.:

1-10 posts: newbie
10-100: weekend duffer
(etc.)

What are they?

I looked for a post listing them but didn't find one.

hkmiz, I like your idea of Grand Slam winner. Maybe I'll incorporate that into the ranking.

How about this? After Green Jacket, I'll make it Grand Slam Winner at 1,500 - 2,000 posts. Then, anyone with more than 2,000 posts can pick a custom user title. I never really liked Golf Hall of Fame because it gave me the impression of being over the hill but if you guys want to keep this, I will.

victory, I like the idea of 'major champ' being the label for 1000-1499 but "green jacket" has a sophisticated sound about it as well..anything you'd like to make that would be great. I also like the "grand slam winner" as the label for those with 1500-2000 posts. Golf Hall of Fame is OK, but technically you could be in the WGHOF without winning a major. But then the custom thing would be a nice touch for those of us who manage to spend enough time here to accumulate that many posts, haha.

I do think custom titles for those with more than 2,000 posts would be fun. I never really liked Golf Hall of Fame so I guess I'll drop it and add Grand Slam.
