Is it just my computer or did the setup for the posts in threads change? It seems like the poster and their info is now placed on top of their post rather than to the side. If it's a permanent change I can't really say I like it Please don't take it personally victory for disliking the change if it's true, you've done so much in giving us a great place to talk golf without the insults, so you can pretty much do as you please by me.
Well, right now, I am working on some style changes. I just want to see how it looks and the only way I can do this is to do it to the real forum. It may or not be permanent.
This is actually how the forum was originally set up. Then I switched it to display the user information on the left, took a poll and the vast majority of users liked it on the left. I have some things I would like to test, though so you might see more unusual activity later.
Just wanted to add that you all are really fast. I guess I can't really slip anything by.
I usually try to implement any huge design changes during the weekend. Saturday night if possible but I have some free time so like I said before, I'm just doing some experimenting.
This might not go over to well with everyone but I'm going to try this for at least a week. I'll poll everyone after they've had a little time to get settled in to see what the response is.
Okay, so I'm pretty much done with the style change. It's kind of difficult to take for even myself but I'm going to give it some time. In the meantime, everyone can sound off in this thread with feedback. I'll make a decision on what to do on a "permanent" basis a week from now. If you've been a member here for a while, you'll know that nothing is permanent.
Okay, load times were just too crazy and processing all of those queries for the sidebar was a little too server intensive so I'm going to scrap it for now. I'm going to try and keep this thread view, though.
If you recall, I preferred this original setup when you polled us about the change to the side. I still prefer this design for its compactness. I guess that I just don't enjoy change as much as I did when I was younger. Now I'm looking for comforting consistency.
I have read, though, that variety and mentally challenging activities help to ward off Alzheimer's, so change away, victory, as much as you like and save me from that awful disease!
