Putting Pictures in Posts

Can someone tell me how to put a picture in a thread. I see the photo icon but the pop up makes no sense to me. I have found some pictures of a new Taylor Made line I would like to share with every one.

Hey Allen,

Right click on the picture you want to post and copy the image location.
Then click the picture icon...if you're in guided mode a box will pop up and ask you for the image location - just right click in the window and paste. If you're in enhanced mode click the icon, make sure the cursor follows the img tag, right click and paste, then be sure to close the tag. Hope this helps.

Just try not to go to a bunch of websites and put their photos in your posts. Try to upload it somewhere yourself. If you don't, you're stealing their bandwidth that they paid for and it becomes quite frustrating for some webmasters

I'm sure that someone can give more and better advice than I can, but until that person comes along....

Let's say you find a good photo on the Internet that you want to share here.
Wait... Gotta be a mod for a second.
All photo's must comply with Golf Rewind rules.
OK, thanks.

For example, let's say you wanted to post the photo that's here:
http://www.golfsartgallery.com/new_a...14044g_44e.jpg

You could do this:
---Make sure you're in "Guided Mode"
---Write any text you want to appear above the photo
---Click on "Insert Image" icon
---In the Prompt box that appears, paste in the URL of the desired image. Hit "OK." In the Reply box, the URL appears, flanked by "IMG" markers.
---Write any text that you want to appear below the photo.
---When finished your post, hit "Submit Reply"

You'll get this:

The tricky thing about this particular example is: At the URL given above, the photo above is the ONLY thing on that particular web page. It's not as if there's a lot of text around the photo. I'm not sure what I'd do if I found a photo on a web page that has OTHER photos, plus text, plus whatnot on it. In that case, probably I'd copy the desired photo to my hard drive (My Pictures folder) and work from there.

I thought I was going to be the first to respond, but a couple others beat me to it. Good job shade, and thank you BDR444 for pointing out other matters that we should be concerned with. (Do my instructions violate any principles that I may not be sensitive to?)

For example, here's one way to get an image from your hard drive's My Pictures folder into a post:

---Write your post in the Message box, as usual
---Go to the "Additional Options" box below the Message box and click on the "Manage Attachments" button
---Click "Browse" button.
---Find the file for the image you want to attach and open it
---Hit "Upload"
---Close the "Manage Attachments" window
---Back in the Message box, hit "Submit Reply"

You'll get this. Pretty small; not sure what to do about that.

I don't see a "Manage Attachments" button in the "Additional Options" box.

EDIT: Never mind I see a box at the bottom called "Posting Rules", it states:
"You may not post attachments."

The moderators are special. They have access to features that us regular folks don't have access to like posting attachments.

Attachments are not allowed for all members because we purchase a certain amount of hard disk space from our Web host. We're not sure how much more space we would use if attachments were allowed.

FYI, "Supporting Members" now have the ability to post attachments. (shameless plug)
