ESPN Golf Message Board

Just a note to express my appreciation for Rewind, and to all who make it the best place to share our interests. The ESPN board, where many of us came from, has sunk to new depths and is now about anything BUT golf.
Fairways and greens to all,
MinnSkinny

You got that right, MinnSkinny. We can thank the ESPN trolls for chasing good folks to Golf Rewind. Keep up the good work, everyone!

FYI, I moved this thread from "General Golf Discussion" (because it's not about golf per se) to this forum ("Announcements/Help Desk") because (being about this site), it seems a better fit here.

This is NOT to de-value the nice things said about GR, however!

I just discovered this site this evening. I, too, am one of those who got fed up with ESPN's golf forum. Thank goodness there is a place to discuss the actual game.

I visited the ESPN boards after hearing about them here. (Guess it's odd that I found GR before ESPN.) After reading posts for about 15 minutes I couldn't stand it anymore. Times like that when I venture off makes me appreciate GR even more. Thanks to Victory and the mods for making this a Great place to talk about golf....

I use to visit ESPN golf boards on rare occasions and what I must say when I was there all I heard was Tiger this Tiger that, and some guy wanting to ask JCgolfpro a question every other thread.

I only hang out there to "rescue" those as I have made it my mission to protect fellow golfers from the ESPTrolls.

Oak is the name if I remember correct there are two of them and it is probably the worst golf forum in the world (sorry to offend anyone) but there us no civilised discussion there as opposed to here.

Like Wishbone, I found GR before ESPN... in fact, I have never been on the ESPN board.

I see not much has changed! lol
But really, this site is what I thought "all" golf forums would be like. Who knew that even a golf board can be "thrown off"???

thanks GR .....

That's exactly what can happen when a board gets out of control. Many of us used to be members over there. It was a great board. It was a fantastic board. It took a few fools only a couple of months to totally trash it. So remember that the next time you're off because you got edited or deleted.

Excellently put wazmankg, and I couldn't agree more. We were pretty unified against the village idiots for a while but it didn't take much time at all to turn it into what it is today. Thankfully one day Victory came and rescued a few (also props to Bulls9999 for finding us a temporary home on Yahoo ) and then jcgolfpro showed us an escape route in August of last year.
